Today the Romanian Parliament gave a confidence vote to the new Government led by Mihai Razvan Ungureanu. Joseph Daul, the Chairman of the EPP Group congratulated the newly appointed Government:

"It gives me great pleasure to congratulate Prime Minister Mihai Razvan Ungureanu and his newly appointed Government. A young team with fresh goals and the courage to achieve them is a good solution for Romania."

"Romanians have shouldered the economic crisis with courage, pride and determination. This week the World Bank, European Commission and the International Monetary Fund confirmed that the Romanian authorities have made good progress in implementing program policies in a very difficult external environment. I am confident that the new Government will continue the good pace of the structural reforms for an even stronger economic performance and so much deserved welfare for the Romanian citizens."
